Anyone ever listen to Captain Beyond?
I just re-discovered the eponymous album from my youth. It still holds up very well.

My older brother had that album, when I was a kid of 10 or 11. He played it over and over so many times for so long, that I grew to hate it. Kinda like how radio killed " Stairway to Heaven" and "Cocaine" for me. To this day, if I hear either of those I want to run from the room screaming and tear my hair out. 
Having not heard "Eponymous" in at least 25 years, I think I might enjoy it now. Maybe I'll see if I can DL it.
how a good piece of music can be destroyed by sheer repetition. I share the disdain for your two examples for that very reason. Both are fine pieces of music, but if I never hear either of them again it wouldn't bother me a bit.
