Question about beaches and coast lines.

Look at a map of a state that is on the coast. Most likely you'll see, X Beach, Y Beach, Z Beach, etc.

But in some parts of the coastline, no beach is named. What's there? Is it beaches that have been "developed" but
aren't incorporated as a city? Is it coastline areas that aren't considered scenic enough to "develop?"

In Florida, most of it probably is, but there are marshes and other types of wetlands that aren't really beaches. Most of the west coast is fairly rocky, as is much of the northeast.
