We are all trying to synch our schedules here in the household, but everyone has been informed that this weekend will not pass without seeing the movie. I feel like I am seven-years old again when my dad and I stood outside on a frigid Detroit afternoon in December, 1977 to see 'A New Hope'. Now, I get to take my son, a young Sith Lord in training (he loves the Dark Side) and we get to be kids together. I hope this feeling never goes away.

(2,379 posts)I saw it tonight and it's everything you could ever wish for. Really. What I missed with the prequels was the HUMOR ... and it's back. I can't wait to see it again.
Avoid looking at anything that might have spoilers before you go.
Have fun!

(25,586 posts)manage to do this in the prequels?" It was natural and effortless and beautiful and heroic; all the more so after the wretched, frenetic nonsense that came before.

(95,337 posts)I felt like Lucas wasted the prequels. And what's worse the prequels had brilliance to them had Lucas just tweaked a bit of the bad acting, cut back on the Jar Jar Bink time and maybe not have used that kid to play the original skywalker (which then maybe Hayden Christiansen wouldn't have tried method acting like him and done a good job making the part his own). Oh and don't tell me what makes up the force - who cares if there is a test. People just have it or they don't, we didn't need the scientific test for it.

(25,586 posts)I feel like I did when I was seven, and my seven-year-old boy is over the moon (which is of course NOT a moon, but a battle station).
You're going to love it.

(56,828 posts)(spoiler alert) I saw the words "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." appear on the screen.
Excellent movie - good up front & personal action, some good dogfights and some fun overall. Boy, did the prequels miss Han Solo and Chewie!

(2,379 posts)NOT to hear the 20th Century Fox fanfare before that?
I cried through the entire text scroll at the beginning and kept getting teary-eyed all through the movie.

(31,397 posts)I loved the humor. It really felt like being with an old friend.
There were LOTS of kids in the audience. I can imagine their parents were kids when the first Star Wars came out. The myth is handed down. Loved that the reality
echos the theme from the movie.

(3,065 posts)Went to an early matinee and there were only 6 people in the theater.
Great story line and perfect character matchups. Outstanding cinematography. Nonstop action.
I'm taking the kids next time.
Yes, I'm gonna see it again.
