Last year one of my cats came in the house yowling in pain and drooling. I fished him out from under the couch and rushed him to the vet. $350, many tests, X-rays, shots, antibiotics and pain killers later, the vet still didn't know what was wrong.

I finally figured out he had been drinking out of the birdbath (drooly mouth) and had been bitten by a bee (yowling). The bees like to drink from the birdbath as well.

Poor guy was so traumatized he actually stayed in the cat carrier for three days. He may have stayed longer, but I took it away.
