Not like the movie reels I grew up with

Movies today are delivered to your local theater in a big plastic box with plug-in units. Ah, for the days of colloid. I worked as an usher once in a movie theater and quit two days after I was hired when I was told to clean up after a puke party in the upper balcony - yes, movie theaters had balconies in those days.

and you didn't have noise from other movies blasting at your thru walls
and people were hushed and polite except for Sat. kiddie matinées.

Last movie theater I was in was 1985, in Bellingham, in an old restored theater that had an actual pipe organ played by a real person.
The movie was The Color Purple.
I admit, I am a snob about theaters.

Us peons would sneak into them once the film started. That is, until the Nazi usher with the flashlight kicked us out. I can't believe they allowed smoking in theaters, too!
