an occasional slushy flake, but no real snow. I don't know where you heard 5"', but the weather channel is saying 8-12 inches.
Stay warm and safe.

The predictions seem to be changing a lot. Right now it's still just wet and chilly. You stay warm, too. Fortunately I don't have to work tomorrow. I doubt I'll go out except to take to dog, and shovel if needed. Good day to read or watch old movies.

and nothing is happening, but we're expecting a lot of snow tonight from CO, and some schools are already saying they'll have a late start tomorrow.

I hate snow.

The snow will be wet stuff. Yuck. I don't mind the fluffy powder; the wet stuff is a mess.

We do get cold weather in Jan. and Feb. some years.
A few years ago we got about 1/2" here and the town went apeshit.
Fender benders EVERYWHERE.

We lived in NH for 16 years.
We know snow.

And people here seem to think that Memphis is downright tropical, but it gets cold down there, especially with the humidity. We would get occasional snow and sleet like I've never seen anywhere else. It would paralyze the city. Nasty stuff. So I know what you mean. Truth is, half an inch of snow down in your neck of the woods is more trouble than half a foot up here.
