(21,054 posts)A HERETIC I AM
(24,369 posts)He has been over the Rainbow Bridge for 11 years now and I miss him every single day.
He was the most gregarious dog I have ever met, who just simply loved EVERYBODY and didn't have a mean bone in his body. At his prime, he was 35 pounds of solid muscle and fun. I call that pic "The Elegant Tourist". He was sitting on the passenger seat of an 18 wheeler I was driving.
Here it is full size;
Edited to add, He was alive when I joined DU, but got every symptom of canine diabetes. He went blind from cataracts and eventually deaf. He became a shell of his former self, and when it got unbearable to see him unable to be the dog I knew was still inside, I had to have him put down. I cried like a 4 year old. I buried him in the back yard of the house I was in in Palmdale, CA.
His back is ever to the rising sun.

(21,054 posts)...beautiful dog! He is a fine looking gentleman! My wee lassie before the little one I have now, she had cancer and it was a hard go on her. Her ashes are on the bookcase in my living room and when I go, she goes with me. I still cry over some of the four-legged friends I have lost. Nothing like the unconditional love and loyalty of someone like your friend Mr. Beau!
A HERETIC I AM
(24,369 posts)And of course, like anyone who has had pets, we lost a bunch over the years. It is NEVER easy. We had females mostly and had numerous litters.
Here's a few puppy pics from way back when .....
My late father with a lapfull! That's the litters momma on his left, I believe that would have been Ms. Mindy.
A herd about to attack my moms skirt!!
"What's in dere?" A pup checking out his papa's ear. That's Ch. Mr. Beau Tye, one of the best marked males we ever had. I showed him and he finished a champion in 1986. That puppy BTW, is also just about perfectly marked for the breed.
Bostons are adorable puppies
A couple more on edit;
The aftermath of the attack!
A fight to the death!

(21,054 posts)Gotta love puppies.
Thanks for putting a smile on my face. I am eating Cheesecake Factory Lady Godiva Choc cheesecake and my smile for the puppies is bigger than the one for the 1,000 calorie treat on my plate!'

(50,559 posts)Considering the blingy stuff on the top of her feet, this looks like an "event" pedi to me - have the acrylic toenails done in the morning, do the event that night and get them cut down the next day. Forget worrying about shoes, how would you negotiate blankets without breaking half of them the first night they were on?

(21,849 posts)Look at the nail on the big toe of the left foot. Part of the nail is not covered by the acrylic.
