My kitchen tree frog, Yesi

I'm working on this picture thing...I swear...But I have a long way to go.

I have a new camera that I don't know how to use yet. New software that came with it that I only tried for the first time today (after finally crawling under my desk and getting my cable hooked up so I can transfer photos to my PC...not easy to do (cable is too short), but I got it done.

I just created an account in photobucket, and downloaded some pics of my little kitchen frog, Yesi, and here they are.

They are not good quality, because I still have a lot to learn about manipulating them for size, lighting, etc. But I hope you can see her. She is adorable.

I made her a little house to hide in. It sits in the corner behind my espresso machine.

I bought her a tree to climb.

The first time I saw her up on the counter...sitting on an onion

I think she saw a mosquito on the wall over the sink...or she just felt like exploring

She finds lots of cool places to sit

She likes being up high

Here's a closeup

She's been with me almost three months, and I hope she makes it till spring, when I'm pretty sure she will take off when the boys start serenading the girls. She keeps me busy, but it's a pretty cool treat to have a frog living with you by choice...not locked up as a pet.

BTW, I do clean my windows, but a humming bird feeder hangs outside the kitchen window. When the rain hits it, it splashes all over my window. Sorry about that. Also, I did not pick the kitchen colors.

I love this little girl.

I have never heard of anyone having a tree frog for a pet! She's kinda cute!

How do you keep from losing her? Does she always hang out in your kitchen?

looking for water. The first day I found her in my cat water bowl. I put her back outside. The next morning I found her on the onion on my kitchen counter. After that I put her outside a couple dozen times and every morning she is back up on the kitchen counter, by the sink. She lives her...her choice. I don't try to put her outside anymore. I'm afraid I'll step on her while she's trying to get back to her new home.

But now I have to figure out how to feed her for winter, as the bugs are drying up. I'll probably have to buy live food from Amazon.

I wish her a warm and happy winter. Wait a minute, how do we know she's a girl? The mind boggles.

And what about...you know....frog poop? Does she have a little box for that?

I'm just funning ya. I think it's really great.

The boys are the croakers.

She poops one poop almost every day (some days no poop. It depends on how much she eats). She leaves them in interesting places, so I know where she's been that night. I just wipe everything down with alcohol every morning.

I'm more than a little jealous. She should have her own FaceBook page. Do they hibernate? I hope you don't end up with tadpoles in your teapot.

I do wish she would stay outside and just be a normal frog, because inside it might not get cold enough for her to hibernate and that means she needs to be fed all winter (I think). I e-mailed Oregon forest and wildlife for info on that, but got no reply. I don't know if she will go into a natural hibernation state inside from lack of food, or if it would just kill her. So I will buy her food once I can't find any more insects.

Thank you for making her house. It looks like she likes it. Also for getting her a tree.

Hope she continues to flourish in your kitchen!

I wish everyone a special friend like this. It's fun!

If I get any more special shots I'll upload them, but I'm not a facebook user, so she will just have to remain anonymous to most people. That's OK...she is happy, and she brings me joy. That's what counts. I'm glad to be able to share this story with you because it is a rather unique story and we all love wildlife stories.

And two are hunters, but they are all getting older and they don't pay attention to frogs any more. They still want to catch hummingbirds.

My sister allowed her baby pet iguana to roam up on the curtain tops. Unfortunately, the dog got him.
