The reviews are in from the prescreenings. Here is one from a source that usually leaves nothing to the imagination and has her own, er, spicy language. Now this is her take so don't read further if you don't want to read what this critic found wrong or right with the movie.
From Lainey Gossip:
Theres a lot they get right in The Hunger Games. Most of it is right. Almost all of it is right. One important element however is not right at all.
Lets start with the great parts, ok?
The world theyve created, or recreated, or imagined from Suzanne Collinss story is perfect. District 12 is perfect. The house Katniss shares with her mother and Prim is exactly how I imagined it. I know youve seen the trailers of the scenes from the Reaping but when you watch it in full scale, its profoundly disturbing, awesome in its attention to detail, and further complements the terrible events that unfold there.
Then theres the Capitol. I wont say more about the Capitol and what happens in the Capitol because I think you should enjoy it for yourself. I promise youll enjoy it. I promise your eyes will explode. I promise youll enjoy Cesar Flickerman SO MUCH and you will grow a boner for Wes Bentleys Seneca Crane. Welcome back. And welcome to the Five List. (Its currently broken. You can sh-t on Jacek for that.)

(46,753 posts)I came across this Huffington Post review which I thought was bland until the last line or so:
"it's more than a love triangle or an adventure film. It's a cautionary tale. We figuratively sacrifice the children of others in order to lead the lives of comfort we lead."
