It's Official: Star Wars: The Force Awakens tickets go on sale Monday.

Following what looks to be an ESPN confirmation about the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer for Monday, now the Fandango website has confirmed tickets will go on sale Monday as well.

A user on Reddit snapped the above screenshot which states "Tickets for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens 3 An IMAX Experience will be available for purchase on Monday, October 19, 2015, at 7pm PST/10pm ET."

The time the tickets go on sale seems to corroborate the ESPN trailer news as Monday Night Football kicks off at 8:30pm ET with the Giants vs the Eagles.

Update: Various movie theaters are reporting Star Wars: The Force Awakens tickets may go on sale as early as Monday afternoon.

1. I've never bought movie tickets this far in advance

I don't think I'll start now, even though I'm very excited for this movie. I think the farthest in advance I've ever gotten tickets is maybe the day before. I guess I'm lucky that I live in an area with a lot of movie theaters, so if one place is sold out (rare), I can just drive 10 minutes to the next theater, or just wait till the later show.

I don't remember why I couldn't do it, but still I always feel awful for her about that.

It was only a day or two in advance for the opening in Westwood (CA). My little brother was living with us then, so the three of us went.

My wife was the only one of the three of us who was free at the time, so she was the one who endured hours in line, even though she was pregnant.

Wow! It is suppose to be released here three days after it is in the US. I don't know whether the tickets here will be that hard to get. In the US it's going to be hard to get a ticket for the first few days.

Well, sort of.

When I first saw a teaser trailer for TPM, I already suspected that it would suck. It just looked... bad. Jar Jar, even before I knew anything about his characterization, looked like a bad idea, and I was actually afraid that he was some kind of on-screen interpretation of the legendarily bad Star Wars comic book character Jaxxon.

When it became clear that the story would be about L'il Vader, I knew that it would suck, because Lucas simply isn't a good enough director to guide a child actor in such a role.

In sharp contrast, I'm much more optimistic about the upcoming film, because everything I've seen lacks that characteristic obvious lameness that doomed the prequel trilogy. I won't be buying my tickets two months in advance, but I'll definitely see it in the first few days after opening.

10. Ebert was a great film reviewer, but I didn't realize that he was also a Lucas fanboi

If I'd known that, wesa might have taken his review with a grain of salt.

Yousa point is well seen.
