(4,016 posts)I had one manage to find its way into my house in the woods last year. It would occasionally climb into the dog's water bowl to cool off and have a drink. When autumn arrived, I caught it and set it outside so it could go hibernate and then the next year, the little guy came back. I put it out early that time and must've hurt its feelings as it never returned.

(12,272 posts)My understanding is that a frog is just a young toad, and I can't remember which it was, but she posted pictures of the little critter. The amphibian used to keep the bug count down for her.
Sorry your toad didn't come back, hope he was OK.
