She also dissed "Eureka" from SciFi channel. But it's too late, we're already sharing a house.

Mr. Dixie and I share a few movies/tv shows in common, but a lot more different ones.
So he watches what he likes in his den and i watch in mine, and we come together a few times a day to share something in common
He has friends he can discuss his likes with, as do I.

And it has bee 17 years for us. so something is working.

We never watch anything together. It's just not crucial to a long-lasting relationship. LOL

After spending nearly 2 weeks in Alaska, my and I ordered the complete set of all seasons of Northern Exposure. We had both seen snips of it when it came out (here, it was dubbed into German and called "Ausgerechnet Alaska&quot , but never seen a full episode.

Fate must have intended for us to concentrate on it, as we had a short circuit in our house shortly after we got back here to Germany, and it knocked out our TV receiver. The DVD player still worked, and we had had it rewired years ago so it could play American DVDs as well as the European ones. In a matter of days, we watched the whole first season of Northern Exposure (in English this time) and half of the second. My wife, who is German, and occasionally stops the DVD to ask me what some obscure word means, absolutely loves it, and we intend to watch the whole run.

there's a photo of my nephew and me standing in front of the Roslyn Café mural. He was 12 at the time, and about jumped out of the car when we stumbled into Roslyn WA. And boy was he ticked that he wasn't old enough to go into The Brick bar. About a year later he was delighted to meet and chat with the actress who played the storekeeper; seems she frequented one of the coffee shops in his neighborhood. Anyway, thoroughly enjoyed the show, it was probably the last series I made it a point to watch.

Rob Morrow: Reportedly a dick in real life, seemed like a dick in general
Janine Turner: I know she's become an extreme, crazy freeper lady in real life, but even without knowing that, I found her to be annoying
Cynthia Geary: That rhyming shit made me want to toss a brick through the TV
John Corbett: The Dave Matthews of sitcoms. I refuse to believe there is any middle ground between loving the guy or being sickened by him. I'll take "What is being sickened" for $500, Alex. My idea of the perfect NE episode would have been to have a giant wasp fly overhead and lay its eggs in Corbett and use him for a host body.

It's a matter of personal taste, for sure, but the success of an "ensemble cast" is in having the audience like the ensemble. Clearly it was a hit show. I never understood why. I'll side with your GF on the "meh" thing.
