CD Player Day With the rise of digital downloads, MP3s and integrated media devices in the house and on the move, the humble CD player may become a thing of the past. Get a bit lo-tech, and celebrate CD Player Day by enjoying music from a dedicated CD player, a portable hand-held player or even a boom box! https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/cd-player-day/International Day of Older Persons With people living and working longer, its increasingly important that we recognise the importance of supporting senior citizens and OAPs within our society. Senior Citizens Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the long-term contribution and dedication of older people, and to ensure that were doing our best to give something back to older people. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/older-peoples-day/

(112,417 posts)1. So is there an 8-Track Player Day?
I still have a CD player and the thought that my collection of around 200 CDs may become obsolete is disturbing, particularly since I waited until midway through the 90s to move from cassettes to CDs.

I think it's time to part with my cassettes and right next to the desk from which I am typing is my CD rack. I am not nearly ready to assign them to the trash can yet.....
