(12,022 posts)Snapping turtles have very long, flexible necks and can reach all the way around to bite someone holding them by the shell.

(16,245 posts)It's obvious from the video. But it probably has a lot to do with the fact that they are active predators, while alligator snapping turtles are ambush predators, meaning they sit still and lure the prey to them. Fascinating.
I still don't want to be be near the business end of either one. I certainly wouldn't go "catfish noodling" anywhere either of them are present.
