by suggesting that the owner removed the cat's spine. I had reservations about the title being a cat lover, but was too lazy to think about a less gruesome posting headline.

Someone was clutching their pearls over THAT? Such delicate flowers...

There are more than a few that lurk in the weeds (like cats!) just waiting to find a chance remark they can pounce on and take breathless offense. Probably some weird passive/aggressive strain of undiagnosed Oppositional/Defiance Disorder.

Optical illusion.

Whaddaya mean, "cat"? If the two black lines at the armpits were ears, and the two dark spots between the neck and the upper arms were eyes, and the mouth is the mouth, then the cat looks like a rabbit that you see from its upper side, rather than a cat you see from its underside.

Thanks for the compliment, but it wasn't clever -- I really thought it was a rabbit and I couldn't understand why everyone else was talking about a cat, until finally I got it.
