Meh. Colbert's New Show

I watched Stephen Colbert on CBS and it isn't as good as the Colbert Report, IMO. It doesn't have the political slant that the Colbert Report had. However, Colbert seems to be rather nervous. Perhaps his nervousness will go away. In addition, the jokes aren't all that funny. The writers are inferior to the Colbert Report writers, IMO. Perhaps the show will get better, but I am not very impressed so far.

So far, though, I think he's doing a good job. Finally have something to look forward to watching during late night. I'm missin' Jon Stewart a lot.

14. Has he stopped yelling? I watched the 1st night, and his normal talking voice

seems to be an 8 on the YELL Meter. Don't need someone yelling at me at 11:30 at night.

But now that you mentioned it, I guess he was pretty loud. I watched some of it again last night and he seems to be using his inside voice at this point.

Colbert played a character on the Colbert Report.
Now he's being Stephen Colbert.
He'll do OK.

He just did a zinger on Hillary along with at the Repukes. Rachel read what Joe BIDEN is going to say on the Stephen show, strongly hinting at not running. What he's doing is featuring both parties, tonight offsetting BIDEN with music/Toby KEITH. Yes, the both-sides-now is a bit irritating, but here's to his relaxing into his own stride.

5. The entire staff moved over to this show, so the writers are the same.

I thought night #2 was an improvement over the first night. (I didn't see last night's yet.) But he's definitely at his best/most comfortable when he's doing political stuff. The Oreo thing was pretty hilarious.

I'm gonna give it some time since his other show improved drastically.

I eventually became one of the heroes. The people who "get it." But the first few shows were mostly "WTF?" for me...

A little smug, but that's part of the persona...Letterman probably defined "smug" in this arena, but there's just something about Colbert that always makes me feel like he thinks he's funnier than I do.

Colbert Report. As for not being as political it is after all a different show with a different audience.

I think the show is great - Reportish in some ways and will break new ground in others

It is very entertaining

I'm sure CBS is very happy
