Yeah, it's not pretty music. Even a lot of long time death metal fans aren't so fond of Portal.

Portal is cathartic to me. It's some of the heaviest, darkest, filthiest music you can find, and sometimes I get into a state of mind where I need to hear something like that to feel better. It's kind of like watching a horror film. It's horror music.
