If it's not a BMW, it is very similar. Just drove past it and I don't think the insignia is quite the same. Possibly a Renault? But don't go by me. I sometimes can't tell the difference from an SUV and van. It has been coming and going for several months now in our development, but the last two days it has had a presence.

(46,743 posts)You see, police and other investigative types have a protocol. If there is an event that needs to be investigated, usually they go around knocking on doors to ask questions. And lord knows, they know that I have security cameras that can be helpful in their investigation. If they were truly objective and thorough, they would at least write me a nice letter asking for my assistance. And if they gave me a date and time and included a thumbdrive I would probably give them a clip of the time reference. That is, assuming I'm not in the clip bending over to pick up my dog's excrement and, thus, exposing my voluminous backside.
Seriously, if it was the Feds, I would be alright with it. I'm more concerned about private entities that might be doing something illegal like hacking into our networks. Afterall, a government entity knows it would be far more efficient to work through the service provider.

(46,743 posts)I really don't know what brought in the surveillance vehicle. But I know it arrived without anyone knocking on doors to gather facts in an objective manner. So it is probably here based on the request of one of the usual suspects.
This is a good ole boy town and the social networks have been free to form and grow based on an unconstitutional interpretation of a land dispute that occurred here in the nineties. So, imagine that. The police are more inclined to be a useful tool for people who committed fraud and conspiracy because they are pillars of the community, than they are to help those of us who are continually victimized by the backroom deals that go on around here.
I try to limit my interaction with the po-po because I have tried before and it's a grand waste of time. I get it. It's a good ole boy town. If I can't reach them through the back door, I can't reach them at all.
Wasn't always this way, but it's obvious that changes in staff have reverted this town back to the eighties.
BTW, we have had accidents occur in this town that never made it in the paper. I think they are overly-sensitive about making this place appear as if it is crime-free.
From my observations, this town obtains its information from backroom meetings and has an overreliance on details derived from a "trusted circle." And that's the problem. They are always responding to information that is gathered from individuals who are highly motivated to tamp down on the truth and would not be opposed to using the force of government for the wrong reasons. It's been that way for as long as I lived here.
Isn't that the definition of insanity? Doing something over and over again and expecting a different result?
What might work is finding a vehicle that will provide the truth in a public forum, where people will be able to understand how decisions were derived, and figure out for themselves whether the path this city is taking is a legal one.

Good quality, lasts for years, economical, plain and simple. Considered a 'utility vehicle'.
