It isn't an expensive one. It's an older Samsung flip out dumb phone but some poor guy might still need it. Wonder how I could find out who's it is and return it to them? Anybody know?

(3,414 posts)The nearest cell tower is 5 miles away in Granger. Now that I'm retired, my land line is the one to call to talk to me, because I'm at home most days. Or you could e-mail me, either way, ATT is the only game in town....

(41,694 posts)Some of us don't want to be bothered on the phone when we walk out the door. I don't want to called and "Help, my computer just ..." after I'm on my way to do something else.
My cell is off 90% of the time. I don't give out the number to just anyone-there's only about 20 people that have the number.
Life is so much better when you're somewhere and the phone isn't constantly going off with either calls or texts. It makes for better personal interaction when you talk to someone.
I've seen people text each other across the table in places rather than carry on an actual conversation.

(46,711 posts)There was no password so I went to the contact list and looked for the name, "Home." Called up the guy and when he picked up the phone his response was quick. "I left my phone at the park, didn't I?"
He was quick to drive back to pick it up and he must have felt pretty foolish because we didn't exchange much of a conversation. Though I'm sure he said thank you.

(4,822 posts)and I met him and returned it a little later. Turns out he did need it back pretty bad. He was thrilled. He said he was getting into his car and stopped to do something and put the phone on his car roof and forgot about it.

(12,132 posts)I thought everyone put a password on their phone. I use a pin but once I tried using the facial recognition.
I wondered how secure it was though so I had my wife take a picture of my face with her phone and we held the picture up to my phone and it unlocked right away. So, not using that now. PIN PIN PIN!
My phone is also encrypted but that's because of work. I Wouldn't expect regular users to encrypt their phones but it's not a bad idea.
