RIP Merl Reagle, one of the great crossword puzzle artists.

He grew up in Tucson and sold his first crossword to the New York Times while still in high school ay
Catalina High. He went on to work at the Az Daily Star before becoming a big name in the crossword world.
Every Thursday, like today, I bought the Star mainly for his puzzle. I'm a big crossword puzzle guy, and
his were some of the best. I'll miss his stuff. He was 65. A very clever guy.

He was also a frequent contributor to Will Shortz' Sunday Puzzle segment on NPR. We've been listeners "since the postcard days"... Sundays wouldn't be the same without it...
