.... Huge tomatoes from my garden. Yum. It's my favorite veggie from our garden. All credit to my wife for the garden. I have no green thumb.
What's your favorite thing from your garden if you have one?

(7,393 posts)I'm facing an explosion right now. Plum out of ideas for fennel, zucchini and peppers. I put it on my list to buy! Thanks.

(14,691 posts)I was very pleased (proud?) that it was so useful. Most gifts you never know what happened to them....ya know?

(19,288 posts)And I think they might be my favorite, too.
Yeah, who really likes squash.
But my fam does. It's not awful if you slice it thick, season it, and grill it.

(3,650 posts)The ones from the store are basically just place holders the rest of the year. BLTs with yard tomatoes are a must have in the summer.

(1,965 posts)It's a toss up between my tomatoes and my red and white radishes... But then I'm also partial to my green onions and cucumbers.
MaggieD
(7,393 posts)I don't know if we planted too late, or if they just don't take off her in the PNW. This is our first year planting them. Love cucumbers though.
Hayduke Bomgarte
(1,965 posts)Some are nearly a foot long and 3+ inch diameters. Heck, a few of my red radishes were close to golf ball size and almost too hot to eat. Almost.

(29,706 posts)BLT's......just gawd's gift to those who love bacon, lettuce, and the biggest plumpest tomatoes on whatever bread you like. Personally, marble rye is still my favorite.

(65,163 posts)We have too many big trees, so they never got enough direct sunlight. Our yield was always crummy, but what we did get was some really good tomatoes. Different varieties, but never got more than a few off each plant. Maybe 30 a year, and as a Sicilian, 30 tomatoes barely lasts me a week.
MaggieD
(7,393 posts)We had the same problem in the past, but we had to remove a few trees and expanded the garden as a result, and boom - crazy amount of tomatoes.
