(12,272 posts)And walnuts, or nuts in general, go great in banana bread. I was messing with Archae's blatant joy, I can be that way.

(5,909 posts)Hope you didn't take what I said the wrong way. I didn't mean anything by it, except that rotten bananas are the best for bb.

(12,272 posts)I didn't take your comment to mean anything other than that you were providing information and I can understand why you would want to inform me because of my teasing comment to Archae

(50,566 posts)I think Elvis would have liked mine.
Also, I put in extra bananas and even a bit of banana extract to amp up the flavor. Also vanilla extract.

(3,702 posts)they were a banana bread making factory.... they would crank out 8-10 loaves - sometimes freeze them so whenever someone came to visit from the Twin Cities (Mpls-St Paul) to where they lived (and I grew up) in Northern MN, they could take some back and distribute them to the rest of us.
It was so cute watching them - cranking out those loaves in their cramped kitchen, they had a rhythm and efficiency that was amazing.
That banana bread was so damn good it never lasted long in our house. We would give little pieces to our dogs - got to the point even they knew when grandma banana bread was in the house and followed us around until we gave in and snuck them a piece.
