Pretty sure it was made by Hubley. This is a photo of one:

(38,313 posts)Probably my "favorite" airplane. I loved airplanes.
But personally, I hate to fly myself, just like some people hate spiders.
Both of my grandmas bought me tickets for unique flying experiences when I was a kid, and I thanked them profusely pretending it was the most wonderful gift in the world, but I'd get on the airplane sweating, buckle myself in tight, and hold onto the armrests, sometimes closing my eyes. And I'd be so relieved when we were back on the ground.
My wife loves to fly. We went on a helicopter flight piloted by a Viet Nam war vet. My wife sat in the copilots seat. My wife's sister and I were in the back. My wife charmed the pilot into doing things he usually didn't do for tourists, his usual business. My wife was yelling and laughing an hooting like a maniac. Me and my sister in-law were praying the ride would be over soon and that we wouldn't vomit on one another.

(17,195 posts)Might even have been the same model. I think it was Revell...
"Fork-tailed devils" shot down more Japanese planes than any other aircraft in WWII. It was less effective in Europe.
