I have a cat and a a dog. I chose neither. They chose me.

Tyler lived in the woods and was a feral cat. I fed him to keep him from raiding bird feeders. It got really cold one night and I put a heating pad on the rocking chair on the porch. He came to the door and meowed. I let him in and he got on my lap. That was 12 years ago.

Roscoe came to me from a rescue group I was affiliated with. I did emergency fosters of part Border Collies. I took Roscoe and another dog off death row 1 hour before euthanasia. No one would take Roscoe. He's still here 6 years later. He loves me and guards me.

Animals always find me somehow.

We have been married for 42 years. In that time we have had a total of only two dogs and three cats. A single remaining cat calls this home. All of the cats and dogs were rescued in some way or another.
