Axl & Slash, on speaking terms again. Eddie and Roth? Welll...2 G 'n' R guitarists DID quit.

Slash was in Sweden helping to promote the new Marshall London phone, and where he jammed with the band Graveyard. In the middle of an interview (watch above), the Swedish reporter for Aftonbladet TV seemed to randomly say, “I’ve heard that you’ve made friends with Axl Rose again.” Instead of dismissing the comment, Slash confirmed the news, saying, “It was probably way overdue, you know. But it’s…you know, it’s very cool at this point. You know, let some of that, sort of, negative … dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long.”

It’s no secret that the relationship between the two musicians has been strained for a long time, as the two didn’t even speak to each other for years after Slash left GN’R in 1996. So the fact that they apparently are on friendly terms again is a significant development.

The reporter then took it one step further and asked the question that Slash has heard hundreds of time — whether the classic Guns N’ Roses lineup will perform again. Slash didn’t seem too pleased with that question, answering, “Oh, I couldn’t answer that one, though. All right, let’s get off the subject, ’cause, you know, that’s an old one.” Earlier this year, Slash said “never say never” to a similar question asked by an American TV station.

The current Guns N’ Roses lineup has recently said goodbye to two of its guitarists, with DJ Ashba leaving the group last month, and along with news that Bumblefoot had apparently left the group months ago. That has fueled speculation that a reunion of the classic lineup could be in the works, but there has been no confirmation of any kind.

even tho I like Kid Rock's music. And to his credit, I bet its just a gig to get more publicity than it would be as a Democratic musician.

I'd pay at least 200 bucks to see Axl, Slash, Izzy or Gilby, Duff, Sorum or Adler (preferably him) together on stage! They were what was right with music, and their end was the beginning of the end. Limp Bizkit, Korn, Slipknot, etc. that tried to fill their void was lame. Oh yea, Nirvana sucked.

If they can get it together long enough for a concert/record that's big time money for them. I'll play with my greatest enemies if I'll get a big payday from it.
