Putting this thread up early today, even though the finale is 13 hours away. I'll be out for a while and running around when I am home.
My guess is that most of Hershel's family, plus T-Dog, will not survive the hour. I think Hershel & Maggie make it out, with Rick, Carl, Glen, Daryl, Carol & Lori. The farm will be wrecked/destroyed in the process of fighting & escaping. So, it will be Farmageddon.
Not sure if the spoiler is true or not, but (swipe away)

heard from a few online sources that Michonne shows up towards the end and saves Andrea. Michonne is the katana wielding African American woman who is a fan favorite from the comics.
Any predictions on who lives & who dies?

I know I'm going to be so damn pissed at the cliffhanger they'll have that I won't be able to get over for days.

So, there is hope it won't be a cliffhanger.

(53,410 posts)Maybe he lives. Besides, there's the mystery of his youth and why he knows how to use guns so well even though he refused to have them in his house. And Lori's pregnant so that whole scary story has to play out somehow. T-Bone is too obvious for this ever surprising story.
I also think they've had too many vital characters killed off in the last two episodes. Dale and Shane are enough for now. They need to keep the people alive or they'll kill everyone off.

(90,775 posts)I can see how the story would be advanced with Hershel surviving this round. I can also see how it could be advanced with his death. I flipped a coin and Hershel lost the toss. lol
I like Hershel, so maybe he'll survive.
I still think Lori dies. Either now or by mid-3rd season. Unless she loses the baby. If she loses the baby then she could survive into the 4th season. She might just lose the baby tonight during the battle or early 3rd season. That would solve several problems. No questions about who the father is, so no lingering Shane shadows. Worries over how to survive with a pregnant woman - running, escaping, feeding, healthcare...the birth. How to survive with an infant as part of the group.
Course, Randall's former group is just up the road...so...survive the onslaught, remain on the farm..Hershel lives, Lori gives birth...confrontations with the "Governor"...pick up a few new characters.
I think they'll have to leave the farm though. So...
Or -
Who knows? It's gonna be exciting tonight!!

(13,661 posts)and there -- b/c family hates the images, and I don't much care for zombie gore either.
But the story is so damn compelling. Hoping someone here is kind enough to give me an on-the-fly rundown.
Right now, Hershel and Daryl are the most interesting characters to me and I hope they both survive. I'm sure Daryl will, he's too pivotal with Merle out there, etc. (and one of the reasons many women watch the show )
Wish they'd done more with T-Dogg's character.
I had nightmares about this upcoming episode last night. Don't like the way the gore infiltrates my subconscious and makes me scared to get up and pee.

(56,828 posts)I quipped on here that we might as well put a red shirt (Star Trek death sentence) on T-Dog.

(30,885 posts)My bet is that the farm will most likely be destroyed in one way or another. Whatever happens, I don;t see it being a "base of operations" in season 3.
Carl...even though he is a kid...has rocketed way past the point of annyoying, and his behavior in the last few episodes has been screaming out for some kind of balance...for him to either grow up fast or become walker food. I don't see him growing up fast.
Hershel? That's one of those "They wouldn't do THAT" scenarios, so they will either DO that, or they will NOT do that.
Flaxbee
(13,661 posts)dear god, get rid of that annoying kid!
I agree with the comment upthread, though, that Lori's pregnancy provides an interesting story arc -- I'd wonder why they'd kill her off (even though she's more annoying than Carl).
Amerigo Vespucci
(30,885 posts)...Carl bought a heavy, heavy dose of Karma with that "tease the walker that disemboweled Dale" thing.
Plus he's a sneak, an annoying little sneak. He's always around some corner paying close attention to things that don't concern him. I would be surprised if they tried to sustain that kind of behavior across the entire Season 3, so something's got to happen.

(30,885 posts)http://www.thehdroom.com/news/The-Walking-Dead-Season-2-Finale-Episode-213-Beside-the-Dying-Fire-Preview/10459
Here's what we know about episode 213 'Beside the Dying Fire' based on AMC's The Walking Dead promotional materials. The Walker herd will chase Rick and Carl back to the Farm where a massive fight for survival will take place. The episode will extend into at least the next day as several promotional images reveal Rick, Lori, T-Dog and others walking along a road.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)In the comics, Shane & Rick are having it at and Shane is getting the better of it, and Carl shoots Shane & kills him. Later, Rick kills Zombie Shane.
In the comics, Carl was the first person in the group to kill a living person once the ZA started.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)was that she was going to be bitten by Walker Shane and then Rick would be forced to kill her. However, that obviously can't happen now, as Walker Shane got killed by Carl.
I'm guessing Lori will make it because it will allow them to work the pregnancy complication into the storyline next year, which is supposedly going to be 16 episodes.
Joe Shlabotnik
(5,604 posts)Actually I think Lori will survive for now, but the pregnancy is going to become awkward in season 3, so its just a matter of time before she looses the baby, and/or her own life. I can see a story arc in the future with Rick raising Carl alone.
With the exception of Maggie, Hershel's family is toast. Hershel, T-dog and Lori are on the bubble. Carol serves little purpose anymore, so my bet is she's done tonight.
I think the cliff hanger ending will involve a desperate escape from the farm with the group split up (so they can spend the first 6 episodes of next season looking for someone again )

http://blog.newsok.com/nerdage/2012/03/18/the-walking-dead-casts-danai-gurira-as-michonne/
AMC has announced the casting of actress Danai Gurira in the key role of Michonne in the series The Walking Dead, based on the graphic novels written by Robert Kirkman. Gurira previously appeared as Jill on the series Treme.
Slight spoilers ahead: The season two finale tonight featured the first glimpse of Michonne, a mysterious woman with a sword who plays a key role in the comic-book series.

Will need to re-read those issues, though.

(27,787 posts)My daughter just introduced me to this show a few weeks ago and we've watched the first 3 episodes on net flicks.
I was telling her that I'd be suggesting they look for an abandoned prison. Prisons are often situated in rural areas. They are built like fortresses, and they usually have kitchens, court yards, fences, walls ... so on. They are often surrounded by open fields, they have observation towers. They are potentially modern day castles.
I wonder if that's what you are seeing.

And don't get me started about her not noticing Carl running around without any supervision.

(17,621 posts)They're saying Rick kept the secret because he wasn't sure of Jenner's sanity. But then Shane's death proved it.
I don't know why Lori is upset with Rick for killing Shane. I thought that was what she wanted.

(56,828 posts)In the comics:
the group finds a prison and holes up there for an extended period of time. Not sure if he is going to show up in the TV show or not, but the group in the comics encountered a retired NFL player named Tyreese before Hershel's farm in the comics, as well as Tyreese's daughter & her boyfriend.
Of course, they've veered off from the comics quite a bit.
