is that when my step-sons introduce me to someone new, they generally leave the "step" out of "Stepdad". (And I usually do the same with "step-son" however it would have made less sense in this instance)

I learned almost everything not to do from my step-asshole. I don't think I'll ever get to the point of forgiving him but at least I'm not a shit-heel to my kids.
