Fun game to play on game night. Take as many books
down off your shelves as you have players. Make sure each book is a different genre. The first host reads the description of their book found on the back, or elsewhere. Everybody else then writes the supposed opening sentence of that book on a piece of paper. All papers are folded and given to the host. They read each one. Then everybody else takes turns guessing which is the real opening sentence. If they guess right they get 1 point. If they guess wrong and it is your made up sentence you get 2 points. Then the next person takes their turn being the host and reading the description of their book on their genre. My sister said it was really interesting if your books were a romance novel, a book on geology, a kid's book, a great but not so famous novel, a book on political economy of the etruscans, etc. Great way to get your creative juices flowing on a variety of concepts. And fun to see how outrageously spot opening sentences were. Just an fyi. I'll play it some time for sure.
