Creative and vicious insults for some of those other web sites

OK, here at DU, we have standards, enforced by jury and moderator, to try to keep a slight bit of civility here.

For those keeping up with the news, on Reddit, some of the most notorious racist subreddits have been banned, among them *ahem* Raccoon City. That's right, Raccoon City has been nuked!

And that means that the residents of that hive of scum and villainy have stormed other parts of Reddit like a zombie horde.

One thing I've learned is that it is impossible to have a rational discussion with Raccoon City former residents. So I just insult them.

Insulting these characters is far more fun, and helps me get out my aggression. Granted, the vote-brigading from those characters does terrible things to my karma, but I'm not in it for scoring the most Internet Points.

One of my more recent examples, in response to a post festooned with racial and homophobic slurs and death wishes...

Spectacularly argued! Have you considered joining your preschool's forensics team?

Let's have some fun. Awards should go to funniest insult, most creative insult, as well as most vicious insult (for the truly deserving.)

Its name was r/c**ntown.

This place was (DAMN, I love using the word "was" in this context!) an anti-black racist subreddit that was so vile it attracted the attention of the Southern Poverty Law Center. Its residents were the kind of people that wear white sheets and swastikas. They talked about "goodifying" black people (their euphemism for murdering them.)

Some of this subreddit's members started swarming other subreddits, and swarmed the post where Reddit's CEO announced that this subreddit and similar subreddits were banned.

And this is their reaction when that subreddit was finally, belatedly banned:

I did literally tell another character from that subreddit "You know that people around you just tolerate you."

Against these characters, I wage psychological warfare...

My only gripe about Reddit's recent actions is that they need to increase the scale. There's still a lot of vicious, nasty, racist, misogynistic, and generally vile subreddits out there that are desperately in need of the banhammer.

or the way they say it is "Do you get invited to many parties?"

That's the Irish version of "Bless your heart", or a way of calling someone the c-word, without actually using that word.

Between him and George Bernard Shaw who had a mutual loathing thing going on.

Shaw: Winston, here's two tickets to the opening of my latest play. Do bring a friend ... if you have one.

Churchill: Can't attend the opening, but will the next night ... if there is one.

One thing I do encounter is defenders of low taxes on the wealthy or Tickle Down. I have heard all their arguments before....somewhere. They are clear full of shit.

Another sort of undesirable I encounter on Reddit is the defender of the health care status quo. They have all the regular Fox "News" talking points down.

I suppose it depends on the subreddit - there are awesome subreddits, and there are toxic subreddits.

But there are a lot of toxic people, the kind that I would tell "Now I know why people talk about you behind your back..."
