All of you that have been supportive while I was quitting smoking

I'm going to run a 5K next week. I couldn't do that when I was smoking.

I have my eye on a marathon, too.

You have no idea how much I appreciate the support I have received to get off of the coffin nails.

I'll probably gripe about missing them at a later date, but really - my lungs are feeling amazing.

4 months - no cheating, unless you consider the gum cheating.

You get outside of the house, helps you calm your mind, and it's pretty much free other than running shoes. (Well other than you DO end up having to eat more).

Heck of a fun thing to do .

I did my first 5K last year and my second a month ago. It was easier than I thought it would be.

I quit. She didn't. She died two years later.

Quit before it's too late, and you will be thankful for the rest of your very long life!

Well done! Don't backslide.

Cigarettes were killing me. I've quit off and on a few times, but I absolutely refuse to go back this time. I've made too much progress.

but 18 years ago when I was smoking again, Phillip Morris publicly admitted they intentionally put increased nicotine in cigarettes to keep people hooked, and that made me so damn mad I quit for good.
I stayed quit because I did not want to go thru withdrawals again...if that makes any sense.
Sorta like pregnancy....once is enough.

4 months is a good long time. At this point never ever having a smoke again moves into the realm of reality. It is truly a great feeling.

To know that you have beaten one of the great evils the world can throw at you is quite empowering.
Feel very, very proud!

Cigarette smoking causes eye trouble?

I'm blind as a bat without correction anyway, but that is interesting news. Please elaborate

Nick is one of the hardest addiction to break.

Good for you! You will miss the nails once in awhile. Just remember how you felt when they had the hooks in you.
