Wow - I got turned down for the same job twice in a week

I am working ft fortunately but trying desperately to get out of this company and job.

Last week I applied for a job online that I had some misgivings about but figured if we got to the offer stage I would deal with the misgivings then.

The app process included doing an online personality test and then this weird online role play.

At the end of this 1 hr process a message popped up that basically said don't call us we'll call you.

At first I was taken aback that I flunked! But then it made me laugh because the whole thing was just so goofy and as I said I already had some misgivings. Lastly I was happy that I got the immediate feedback instead of the usual no response.

This morning I received an email from this company thanking me for my application, wondering why I hadn't responded to their earlier email and asking me to select my preferred date and time for a phone interview.

So I emailed them back, thanking them but letting them know I didn't receive an email and was under the impression that I did not meet their expectations and asked them if they were sure they emailed the right person.

2 hours later I received an email full of apologies that they sent out a bunch of emails by mistake and to please disregard it.

I kind of feel like sending a snarky response. I'm not so worried about burning bridges with them. What do you think?

email them back and explain that you solved a similar problem at another company and would be normally be happy to work for them and solve this glitch. But you have another offer from some place already working quite well.

For a seafood restaurant. It was who would I rather be on a film set.

I think my rolling of the eyes did me in.

my forte - or at least not being pushy about it - I think that's where I flunked. Who knows.

I work for myself and got a great call last night that will ease my worries ---finally. I was pretty bummed for 2 weeks because my mechanic says I need a new car stat. I just don't have the credit or money for that. Now it is looking better!

May you get sane bosses and happy co workers and work that feels good doing.

6. Thanks so much. I work for a small company that has never seemed to be financially sound and my job

right now is truly killing my brain.

I have been trying to come up with an idea to start my own business but I can't seem to get beyond the idea stage. Last spring it was all about opening a pie shop with one of my friends but I am seriously a fail at pie crusts so I had to give that up.

Then last week I was thinking about our dog and how he seems to get bored of his (expensive) dog food and how he won't eat. So then I thought of making a dog spice company to have natural, healthy flavorings to sprinkle on dog food (instead of throwing the food out). Then when I went to research it I found out there are all these herbs that are healthy for dogs that I could just add to his food to change it up and that is probably what other people do. Another idea that goes nowhere, maybe I'm too pessimistic.

Glad things are looking up for you, hope they will continue on an upward path.

7. I started supplementing my income by pet sitting

It grew without advertizing. I now am fully insured, licensed and bonded since it has grown from people I know.
I belong to Pet Sitters Associates now
http://www.petsitllc.com/

To join, you have to buy their insurance but it is portable...not like many sites that will only cover you if the appointment is made through their site.
It was $300 per year, but I got the upgrade umbrella for another $100.

Joining may not be what you can do now, but it is always good to have resources.
I have been a professional organizer, but now do more concierge work. I do live in Microsoft land so there are clients. I am learning infusion soft which will allow me to do back office work from my laptop. It is a software that companies who sell downloadable wares on the internet use. They have to be doing well because the price of the software and the subscription separates the wannabees and the successful. I worked for too many start ups and had to hold my checks because they didn't have enough to meet payroll.

Good luck, it feels as if you are alone, but you are not!

other dog but him. Then again I am surprised how much I like our dog. That would be perfect for my husband though, thanks.

8. I would have emailed them back

Tell them, "I'm the one you are looking for to prevent such embarrassing things from ever happening again. Please reschedule my interview!"

MAN am I glad I got my job in the days before there was online anything. I got approached, recruited, been there forty years now. I have yet to sign an employment contract. That may not sound like job security, but if it's not, then I've had 40 very cool years of job insecurity.

It's very convenient to be able to apply for jobs online. I did get an offer a couple years ago that I turned down and have had some follow up recently without offers so it isn't just idiots with dysfunctional email processes

I'm sure I would have a totally different attitude about it if I wasn't employed.
