Facebook question

Is there a way to follow what friends post to their Timeline only and to not include comments, replies, or likes they've made in their Newsfeed?

...to not miss out on friends and family pictures and stuff while not having to view their political bull crap.

I have to totally ignore everything in order to do this now but it also ignores their Timeline personal posts.

I kept hiding the pages they liked, pictures, etc. but they found new ways to irritate me with their political crap.

I finally removed those people from my newsfeed. I can still go to their page and check on them or see pictures if I want to but they don't clutter up my newsfeed anymore.
