Yesterday, we lost Roger Rees, who played Lord John Marbury.

"I am John, Lord Marbury, Earl of Croy, Marquess of Needham and Dolby, Baronet of Brycey, England's ambassador to the United States, and a terrorist is a terrorist even if he wears a green necktie and sings 'Danny Boy.' Yes, you can call me John."

Twice a year, I was the first four seasons (the Aaron Sorkin years...) on DVD.

Now, when I watch them, it's often times to see what has changed for the better since the original airing.

Just recently, I watched the episode in which Sam tried to reason with the bigoted military higher-ups on gays in the military. I think: 'Victory!"

Yesterday, I saw the 2nd Season epp which talks about marriage equality, and thought: 'Victory!'

Best TV show of all time. And I will miss Roger Rees...

That's the first thing that popped into my head just now, when I read the sad news about Roger Rees. Dear God, what a production! I wasn't lucky enough the see it on Broadway, but I watched it on PBS and I was beyond impressed by it. RIP.

...and that's mainly because the Kirstie Alley chasing rich guys arcs got more annoying than the Sam Diane arcs.

Still, Rees played the part he was given well. RIP.

Recently watched the West Wing from beginning to end as I do every year and his role was perfection.

Rest in peace sir.

I loved his outrageous behavior towards Abby, Lord John was very relaxed at the White House!

I mostly remember him as Fred Holywell, Scrooge's nephew.

71, that's too young.
