I heard my first ice cream truck tonight. I heard that they

go to low income areas in this city. I live in one and here they came tonight. Don't know if they give out ice cream for free in tough neighbourhoods but they should. Someone I work with told me they go to government housing in Ottawa once a week in the summer. I love government programs. I love good government. Canada's motto has always been Peace, Order and Good Government. The conservative government is trying to change that by stealth to Strong, Proud and Free.

neighbourhood once a week. I thought what an excellent idea. Ignored the ice cream truck sound tonight at first. Thought it was the tv. Then looked and sure enough it was the real thing. Never seen one before. And am glad all kids get access to summer fun. I did not go outside and get an ice cream as I am on a diet. As a kid ice cream would excite me. Now I get excited about government programs. I guess I'm grown up. Sorry my post did not make sense.

I was always robbing my collection to buy ice cream.

But when I was interning with a Dem congressman in '77 I did get to go see Pierre Trudeau address a Joint Meeting of Congress.

It's certainly not low income. I think they just go wherever they can make money, which is usually wherever they can find kids.

Funny how you view the ice cream man as a child and an adult. As a child, you see this adult figure that you solemnly wait for and dutifully pay your savings As an adult, you see a guy who does not have the best job, barely pays his expensive truck gas, and makes the thinnest of margins on food that is expensive to refrigerate.
