I used to walk past a yard that contained a German shepherd and a Chihuahua - it was hilarious - slow deep barking punctuated by high pitched, high speed yipping.

I had a Rottweiler (now in doggy heaven) and a Chihuahua (still living), but the Chihuahua could out bark the Rottweiler.

chihuahua who kept their big, lumbering, slow poke butts in ORDER. Little man was the boss!

He would have fit in one of their mouths, they were that big; just gigantic dogs! I didn't like them very much, too slobbery and their teeth were as long as my fingers. I don't trust nuffin that can kill me with one bite.

He kept the big dogs in line and in the yard. He would jump at their shoulders and bark insanely if they tried to crawl under the fence! I wish I had a video. LOL

Lest anyone ever doubt the power of sheer attitude, all one need do is observe the number of huge powerful dogs dominated by little yappy ones. I got a huge kick out of it when I'd walk my dog - all 5 lbs. of him - and we'd pass large dogs whose owners would frequently comment "oh look Bruiser, a little snack for you..." and seeing my dog go into his tough guy routine, with his "oh yeah, come get some" snarl....I just thought it was too cute for words. And if the other dog got too close and I scooped up mine for safety, he'd get even tougher - like "good thing for you she picked me up pal..."

People liked to say "oh he think's he's a big dog..." but he didn't. If something big got close, he would all but jump into my arms. It was all posture, and that's how you get by in the world when you're built like a baby bird. He was no dummy.

My dog acting tough:

we love him and know he has a Napoleon complex that has almost gotten him killed a few times .

and a 16 lb "Pappi-poo". Either would be lost without the other. They play together, he as roughly as his small size permits, and she ever so gently. If either goes to the door, asking to go out and isn't soon noticed, the other will come to get one of us.
