A Loxahatchee man who didn't want a bank to sell his foreclosed home tried to blow it up using a bowling ball as an explosive, Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies said.

Tyler Butler, 21, was arrested Monday on charges of arson and using an explosive device.

The fire started about 10 p.m. Sunday in Loxahatchee. Butler was inside the home when the fire was reported.

Deputies detained Butler after he left the burning home. As firefighters extinguished the flames, they noticed a bowling ball with a wick attached.
