It’s the height of summer and folks throughout the country are visiting parks, hiking through the woods, or otherwise enjoying the outdoors.  Chances are high you might encounter a snake or two if you’re out.  But don’t panic—they’re actually pretty harmless creatures.

My beloved girlie dog has her nose in everything. Gratefully, there are a couple of trainings available where partially defanged western diamondback rattlesnakes and non-venomous bullsnakes are brought in and the dogs are taught to avoid sight, sound, and smell using an electronic collar. It does help. Several dogs came for a refresher from previous years... None even required a e-collar stimulation this time around upon coming into proximity of the snakes.
