I have bunnies that have a nest under my shed in my fenced in backyard (fenced for a 110 lb hound mix and a 70lb boxer)... Every spring they have babies, and EVERY spring I check the yard before letting the pups out so they don't hurt the babies. In 7 years, I've only lost 2 babies and that was the first year. My pups caught 4 in total that year, but 2 I was able to have them release before they were injured. I now know where they tend to "hide" in the yard. If I see them out there, I bang on the door before opening it and they run back under the shed.

I'm sure my neighbors think I'm insane

Not one of the snake's better ideas.
