Darn you, Autocorrect!

Darn you all to heck!

I ordered a bracelet from an Etsy store, and here’s the inscription I wanted:

Geweldig is de haai
stoere jongen
van de oceaan

It’s Dutch for

Awesome is the shark
tough guy (“badass” in American colloquial)
of the ocean

Here’s how it came:



On the inscription form, Etsy’s autocorrect “fixed” oceaan by removing one of the a’s. I didn’t notice it had done that. I don't know why it didn't try to correct the other words.

Word to the wise: beware of Etsy’s autocorrect if you ever want something inscribed the way you want it.

I reordered, making sure to correct autocorrect this time.
