My stepdad's cat, who runs into the room to bite people when they whistle will endure getting a bath. She's usually not happy about it, but she doesn't claw or bite during it.
My basset hound would fight it tooth and nail, but she had experienced trauma as a puppy involving neighborhood hellions attacking her with water. I wouldn't have given her as many baths, but she would develop smell issues due to folds and ears that never stay out of the gravy on her dinner. Fortunately she dried quickly.
