A new personal record. Killed three black widows today. I hate em!

3. Dude, they were already widows. Now the children are orphans.

I used to be freaked out by them but now I think they're pretty cool as long as they're not in the house.

6. My company moved to a new building that was infested.

Only, the boss didn't say "infested". He said "a few spiders". I relocate spiders, not kill them. So he handed me a paper cup and a piece of chipboard.

I managed to find new areas for three, very large, black widows. But...I went around one corner and there was this massive web (think "Arachnophobia&quot . I just stood there, in shock. Each black widow had claimed a huge section of this web. There were several egg sacs in each area. I walked up, confident I could rescue them all. I touched the web and it felt like wire. Not a chance. I'd need a chainsaw to reach each little "family" and by the time I reached one the others would have me surrounded.

Sadly, the first three were all that I could rescue. They bombed the building a few days later.

I think what fascinated me the most were the decimated little bodies of smaller black widows. Obviously, not strong enough to fight off their larger, more agressive sisters (and mothers). I also didn't think they'd build what I could only refer to as a "colony". Not sure if it's a safety mechanism or what, but it was interesting to see.

I like spiders and scorpions. I pretty much like everything...except centipedes. They must die. All of them. Ew.
