Charlotte likes to lick and chew on my hand and arm, right after I take a shower.
Anyone else have a cat that does this?
Wait Wut
(8,492 posts)It was disturbing and I'd dance around in the bathroom trying to get away from him. But, he'd throw his arms around my ankle and go crazy.

(18,183 posts)and cat-Mandu nips at anyone who pets him on his back or belly. He especially hates having his belly rubbed
A friend told me long ago that the "big" cats (lions tigers etc) lick their prey with their sand paper tongue to remove hair etc before eating it
BTW that friend was oneighty--I am sure you old timers remember him!

(50,566 posts)he kept licking the same spot on the back of my hand over and over. It was like sandpaper. It wasn't until a little later I realized he'd given me a weeping raw wound.

I worry that he might not be licking me just because he likes me. Maybe he's actually tasting me. You know, for later... like if someday I fall down the stairs and there's no cat food in his bowl....

She was a cat that was really tuned into me - she used to put her chin on my head and purr when I couldn't get to sleep. It works!

(118,683 posts)a little worried that I am covered with water. Perhaps you cat is just trying to assess that you are still there and that the evil water did not change you or your nature.

(50,130 posts)Chester was kind of a motherly fellow -- always doing something helpful 'round the house.
He would sit on the edge of the tub while I was in the shower, waiting.
