There's only one other band I can think of...Return To Forever...that deserves to wear the post-"Bitches Brew" mantle of "fusion band."

Mahavishnu (and to a somewhat lesser degree, RTF) made a WHOLE LOT OF MUSICIANS want to "be" them.

And seemingly overnight, the world was populated by one crappy "fusion" band after another.

"Inner Mounting Flame" and "Birds Of Fire" are certified materpieces that belong in the collection of every TRUE music lover.
