Smell the roses

Or the coffee, or anything.

Any DUers out there who have ever lost their sense of smell?

At the very end of April, I had a very bad 'cold' or some sort of upper respiratory tract infection with chest congestion and bad cough. In fact, the coughing was so bad, it gave me headaches. I never had a runny nose or felt stopped up and breathing was, and is, fine. Everything resolved, or seemed to, but now I cannot smell things or scents are very faint. As a result, my sense of taste is off... everything is bland and tasteless. May as we'll be eating cardboard

Anybody ever had this? Please tell me it's temporary

Thought I would cough my lungs out. Lasted for a couple of weeks.

But I didn't lose my sense of smell or taste.

Acupuncture works for some people. I have heard of it just coming back on its own.

Have you seen a doctor?

a distinct smell of burning wood and once that starts, that's all I can smell. Was very annoying at first, but now I've grown accustomed to it.
