Financial tug of war.

We started the financial tug of war when we got married in 2011. My wife had a lot of debt. I had some debt, plus I took a lower paying job so I could be with my new wife instead of out on the road most of the time. We've been hemorrhaging money ever since then.

I went back to school to rectify the situation. I haven't found a new job yet, however, my current job is paying better now. We haven't added any new debt in about seven months and we are starting to make a little dent in our total debt. The going is slow, though, and we are still just one major problem away from starting to add more debt again.

I have applied for a new job. It's got to be at least the 50th application and resume I've sent out since December. From what I can gather, it pays much better than what I'm doing now and I'm well-qualified for the job. If I get this job, it will mean that my wife and I will win the tug of war. Wish me luck.

I hope you didn't have to go too far into debt for your degree. I just finished my 3rd degree (doctorate) last month and am done forever. Last week I sent out 47 unsolicited cover letters and CVs for next year as my current job is well below my qualifications now and I should be making more.
