Anyone Know Anything About PAYPAL?

I have an item I am selling off of Ebay. I just came from my local UPS store and got a quote for shipping and packing. I am trying to work in PAYPAL'S fee when giving them a total for the item (I am including everything in price and want to take care of insurance, shipping,& Paypal fee's) Anyone suggest how I can figure this out?

Also, can anyone recommend anyone other than UPS? (is FED EX cheaper?) Thanks!

1. Not sure what you are selling but have you checked the USPS rates

They have flat box rates meaning all the stuff you can fit into one box for a flat rate regardless of the weight

but it has be somewhere in their policies. I would, however, use the USPS rather than both UPS or FedEx. They are both so expensive!

3. Lots of Ebay sellers like USPS Priority Mail

The only problem is there is no real tracking with it. Of course, once UPS or FedEx hands over a package to USPS for final delivery, there's no real tracking for them either.

As a former seller and occasional buyer, I like PayPal and ignore the political crap about it. It is the easiest way to get confirmation of payment immediately. If you allow checks, you have to wait for the check to arrive, deposit it then wait for it to clear. It's been so long since I've done anything on Ebay I don't know what the other alternatives are.

As for shipping, I'm partial to FedEx but my SO works there and I get a discount.

That said, FedEx Ground sucks though it is pretty cheap. You'd need to do the comparison yourself.

I should have specified. The item I am selling is rather big. It weighs 76 pounds and the size is 36 " high x 22" w. On top of that it will have to reboxed and packaged by UPS. Oh, and did I mention that UPS was going to have to charge me $3 to come out to my house and pick the item up because I can't fit it in my car. Because I don't know where it is going, they gave me several prices . All and all, the shipping, insurance, pick up fee and packaging is costing between $300-$400.I don't think there is a DHL anymore. I thought FED EX would be about the same as UPS. I might try USPS just to see what the difference is. Thanks everyone!

The shipping costs are generally less as well, especially if you use the any weight ones (up to 70 lbs, same fee).

6. The seller always eats the fees in PayPal's system for the sale of tangible goods.

If you want to be covered by the Seller Protection Policy, you need to take on those fees. I think it's something like 2.9% plus .30 cents. Also, get a tracking number, and possibly a signature confirmation of delivery (if it's a high-priced item).

Good Luck!

Sorry. No facts included.

I just hate that USPS is being dragged through the mud.
