As a Philadelphia Eagles fan I don't give a Rat's Ass about Tim Tebow

I mean I wasn't keen on Michael Vick's past (which is hardly fair to compare an over-the-top Fundie to a former organizer of Dog fights who has abused animals), but I knew that Vick had served his sentence, done his community service and was ready to work hard on the field and get the job done. And I would ask that if you are here to talk about Michael Vick and his history, start another thread. Vick has worked hard to help make a difference today to prevent Dog fights and animal abuse. Not try to convert anyone, just pointing out people do deserve second chances and this thread is about Tebow.

Having said that Tebow deserves one too. If the guy shows up to camp, works hard and leaves the over-the-top religious craziness at home then fans in Philly will embrace him as a player provided that he shows results on the field. I know his stance on choice, I doubt his stance on marriage equality is much better. But since I don't know how the rest of the team stacks up on these issue it probably isn't fair I use this as a deciding factor on how I judge him as a player. Watching football is something I enjoy doing a few hours on Sunday - I hardly make any of these players as role models beyond the few hours of entertainment I get on the weekends.

It should be an interesting season. In the end I suspect he's there to be a professional seat warmer/third string QB. But the way Coach Chip Kelly cleaned house on players who knows. Or maybe Tebow is ready to recognize he could be better suited for other positions in the NFL than QB.

And a reminder to Tebow - Matthew 6:6 (Jesus said PRAY SOMEWHERE QUIET, might want to try doing that this season)

Oh sure, there's that Tebowing thing, but I do believe he is sincere. He's not the best player, but he really does try hard. When he was here in Denver, he never got into trouble (unlike so many other players) and we all got kind of used to him saying, "God bless you."

Eagle fans have little patience with the drama. Do your job or keep out of the limelight til you do.
