Tuesday I came home and my apartment smelled like smoke. No not from

a fire, from a neighbor's apartment.

Most of the time, I'm not bothered with it. It seems to happen when the
neighbor is running the air conditioning and I'm NOT running it. I have noticed it
when the weather is just starting to get warm.

Anybody here knowledgable about that kind of stuff?

Can you distinguish the type of smoke from the odor?
Is it:
Wood smoke?
Electrical?
Tobacco?

How familiar are you with how air flows through your apt.?
Could be an outside source coming in.

If your neighbors AC has a serious problem, it won't be long before the unit dies.
I assume it is a heatpump and not a window unit.

Sounds like a call to maintenance is in order.
