The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI live in Indiana and beer is a religious sacrament in my church.
However, alcohol cannot be legally bought in Indiana on Sunday unless you are in a restaurant or a bar. That's hardly the altar of spirits and the unshaven where I worship. That law is impeding my religious rights in Indiana.

(95,337 posts)The religious crazies went apeshit. The logical folks like myself pointed out the obvious - at any given location in the state of Delaware someone is 30 minutes from a liquor store open on Sunday in Maryland. Why should those tax dollars to another state? Somehow our state managed not to imploded into the fiery grasps of hell when the law passed like 8 years ago. Now we have all the crazies from PA driving to our state where we just sell it all cheaper (along with the folks from NJ getting their cheaper smokers).

(10,418 posts)Indiana, as a state, is predominantly white, Christian, and conservative. There's not any minority, or even a combination of them, that's remotely close to them.
That's why this place is so fucked up and backwards to the point that's it's an embarrassment to the nation.

That's another sacrament.
