I just slammed a friend for sharing his entire email contact list with a third

party website whose "mission" is to help update one's contacts. Even worse, after it was done, he compounded the problem by apologizing to everyone -- by CCing all of us --- so now we all know everyone's email. He asks me why I am so uptight. I mean, are people still this naive?

Did you explain to him why you don't want your private email address given to others without your consent?

That it can be passed to spammers, hackers etc?
